Learn how to configure you Star Cloud Printer with the My Menu platform.
For your convenience, we have created a video tutorial. Alternatively, you can follow the explanation outlined below.
Instructions:
First you need to access your Star Cloud printer's utility page. You can do this by entering your printer's IP address in your internet browser.
Note: To get the IP address, simply run a test print.
Once you have accessed the utility page, you will need to log on, using the credentials on display. The default credentials at the time this tutorial was created were "root" (username) and "public" (password).
You will then be prompted to change the password. Once you hit submit, you will land on an option to restart your printer. Then click Save --> restart device, as shown below.
After the printer is rebooted, make sure you are logged in and head onto Configuration> CloudPRNT
Enter the server URL in the box provided.
To get the server URL, log to your My Menu account> Integration >Star Cloud PRNT> Connect.
You will then see a window looking like the one below, with the server URL on display.
Copy-paste the URL in the Star Cloud printer window, to begin the connection.
Polling time (sec.)
It represents the refresh rate and frequency the network links back to the server for a print check.
The ideal Polling time (sec.) is 20 seconds, so make sure you enter a '20' in the box, as shown above.
Anything faster than 20 seconds can bog down the server, due to consecutive requests. Whereas a timing slower than 20 seconds will be too long to do a print check.
Press Submit > Save > Execute > as shown below:
Once you have completed the above steps, your printer should print a confirmation message related to the configuration's success, displaying a Star access ID as shown below.
Next, go back to your My Menu dashboard and enter the Star access ID as shown in the Authorization step below, and type next.
Finally, make sure that 'Receipt Printing' and 'KOT Printing' are enabled. Then press 'Finish'
Once all steps above have been completed, the connection has been established and the configuration needs to be tested to ensure all works correctly.
Test your configuration
Go to My Menu dashboard> Integration> StarCLOUD Printing> Configure> 'Test Print'
Scan your menu, to access it as if you were a consumer, select a few items to add to your 'dummy' order.
Review your order details and add a comment to explain that it is a test print, so the kitchen staff do not to prepare your order.
Then select 'Place Order'.
At that time, your Star Cloud printer should print the order placed as a KOT and as a Receipt.
When it is not a test order, KOT and Receipt will be printed when the order has been paid for.
